Policy is currently suspended and under review.
Friends and Family
We have decided to allow friends and family members of current guild members to join the guild without going through the application process. These individuals will have non-raider status, and will have the same level of access as all other members minus the ability to raid.
Now here are the specifics on this new change:
1) In order for someone to join the guild as a friend/family member, they must have a current raider of the guild sponsor them. The sponsor will be listed in the comment section for that individual in the social panel so that guild members know that this person is “Dirklin’s Friend” or “Rodrin’s Family”. The non-raider must also be 18+. We are an adult guild, and adult discussions are known to happen in guild chat.
2) Individuals joining as friends/family will not have to apply to the guild. The raider sponsoring them will talk to one of the officers, explain the situation to them, and then the officer will invite the individual to the guild in the non-raider status. The sponsor is responsible for providing any necessary information to the new member so they know what acceptable behavior is and what is not. Should there ever be any negativity come from the friend/family member, the sponsor will need to deal with it as per officers instructions.
3) The new member will have full access to the guild forums as any other member would.
4) Friends/family will not be granted the ability to sign up for current progression focus raids that are being run. They may be invited to a raid should there be a shortage of players on a given night.
5) Should a non-raider be invited to a progression focus raid, they will be considered last in terms of loot priority. They will be able to acquire loot if all raiding characters pass, and will be considered ahead of off-spec requests. They will not be listed on our loot lists.
Now should a non-raiding friend/family member decide down the road that they want to be a raider with the guild, there will need to be a new procedure put in place since they will have full access to the guild forums. That being said, should that situation ever arise, here is the policy that will be followed:
1) The friend/family member will only be considered should a position be open in our current recruitment for their class.
2) The member will be demoted to initiate rank and will have full access to sign up for all raids.
3) The friend/family member will go through the standard 30 day trial period where they will raid with us and be critiqued by membership.
4) No formal application will be posted on the forums, and no feedback post will be posted in the members section. As they already have access to the members section, all feedback will be sent to the recruitment officer in the form of PM’s on the guild forums. Those PM’s will be copied into a feedback thread created in the officer forums. At the end of the 30 day period, the officers will make a decision on the individual based on the feedback provided and what they have noticed.
5) Should the individual not be a good fit for our raiding force, they will be advised of so and be given the option to remain in the guild as a non-raider and continue to play with friends/family, or move on to another guild. |

The officers are going to be taking a look at this policy and reworking it. We have no intention of stopping people from having their Friends and Family join this way, but we also do not want it to become a back-door into raiding for people who have that as their ultimate goal.
Stay tuned for more info! _________________ *vanish* |
